Background
JSI R&T India Foundation (JSI Foundation) is a not-for-profit organization, registered in 2014 under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013. The mission of the JSI Foundation is to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable communities through innovative, evidence informed and replicable strategies in partnership with government, private sector and civil society. JSI Foundation works closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Women and Child Development, as well as state counterparts, leading CSR companies, and Global Fund to implement context specific and comprehensive public health programs in India.

Project Overview
Project Tushti, supported by Nayara Energy, is a flagship initiative aimed at combating malnutrition and improving health outcomes in high-burden areas of Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gujarat. Since its inception in 2019, the project has implemented community-driven interventions that have significantly reduced malnutrition rates in targeted regions.

Building on its success in Devbhumi Dwarka, Project TUSHTI is being expanded to Porbandar, Gir Somnath and Amreli districts, in addition to Devbhumi Dwarka to strengthen maternal and child nutrition outcomes, reduce malnutrition, and build Suposhit Panchayats through convergence, behaviour change communication and service strengthening.

Education Qualification : Atleast a Graduate, preferably in Social Science/Social Work, Public Health or any related field

Experience : Around 2-3 years of experience working in the development sector at the village / block level. Experience of working with frontline health workers, ICDS, PRI at village and block level will be an advantage.

Salary : Rs. Dependent on experience and interview.

Location : Devbhumi Dwarka – 11 positions Porbandar – 5 positions Gir Somnath – 8 positions Amreli – 6 positions

Job Summary
The Field Officer (FO) will be responsible for implementing Project TUSHTI activities at the village and Anganwadi Centre (AWC) level in assigned clusters (approximately 45–50 AWCs). The FO will work closely with ICDS, Health Department functionaries, Panchayats and project teams to ensure effective execution of nutrition interventions, accurate data tracking and sustained community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Implementation & Service DeliveryImplement project activities as per the approved work plan in assigned villages and AWCs.
Conduct joint growth monitoring (weight, height, MUAC) with AWWs and health staff.
Identify, line-list and follow up with SAM, MAM, SUW and MUW children.
Support implementation of CMAM-related activities, Nutritional Care Centre models and other new initiatives.
2. Maternal & Child Nutrition SupportConduct home visits and counselling for caregivers of malnourished children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Promote optimal practices for ANC, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and THR utilization.
3. Community Engagement & ConvergenceSupport and facilitate Poshan Sabhas, VHSNDs, and Four Tuesday events at AWCs.
Strengthen VHSNCs and promote community-led nutrition action planning.
Work in convergence with AWWs, ASHAs, ANMs and PRI members.
4. Data Management & ReportingMaintain accurate beneficiary records using Poshan Tracker and Tushti Digital Health Card.
Ensure timely data entry, verification, and documentation of nutrition outcomes.
Support supervisors in monitoring, reporting and review meetings.
5. Capacity Building & IEC SupportSupport training and on-job mentoring of AWWs on growth monitoring, counselling, and SBCC.
Use IEC/BCC materials effectively during counselling sessions and community events.
Assist in development and dissemination of district-specific IEC materials as needed.
6. Any Other DutiesPerform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Block Coordinator or District Project Manager in line with project objectives.
Key Deliverables / Outputs

Ensure regular growth monitoring and accurate data entry for all assigned AWCs.
Identify, follow up, and support recovery of malnourished children (underweight & wasted).
Strengthen the services of Four Tuesdays, VHSNDs, VHSNCs and Poshan Sabhas.
Improve the IMR and MMR.
Strengthen community participation and progress toward Suposhit Panchayats.
Documentation of success stories, case studies, and field photographs.
